David Richert, who had served for two years as Scottsdale city manager, stepped down Tuesday, citing insufficient support from the City Council.

City officials said Richert met with council members on Monday regarding his review. The council was expected to name an interim city manager Tuesday night. Richert had been with the city since 2008. He had served as city manager since 2010.
